CNY chat gone wrong
Received a phone call from my aunt on the first day of Chinese New Year, who’s residing in Canada now. Everyone in the family took turns to catch up with her over the phone and exchange well wishes.
While my mum chatted with her, my aunt said that after looking at my photos (in Facebook? maybe) she realised that I’m starting to look more and more like my dad back in his younger days.
To which my mum replied, “Yea, you think so too? I guess that’s good, if not we’ll have to worry who the boy’s real dad is. Haha!”
It was followed by a brief awkward silence. FHL lol.
I could almost see a semi transparent thought bubble over my mum’s head reading “Why the hell did I say that?!”.
