Two oh oh nine
This is the only year that most people know that it’s very very bad even before they go through it. It’s like forcing yourself to swallow shit, while everyone else is swallowing theirs too.
I’ve got a friend who experienced very frequent left eyelid twitching on New Year’s eve…

Moral of the story: Even though 2009 is expected to be a tough and bad year, don’t worry too much! Ignore the superstitious stuff and just do your best. Your life is under your control, and only you can change it.
Here’s wishing everyone a meaningful year ahead! XD
( By the way, if you’ve noticed, I just changed my layout! All my layouts have always been reflecting what I thought/felt/hoped for in my life, including this one too. Heh. )
———————————————————–
Recently I watched Ip Man! ( Not a superhero called ‘I’ ‘P’ ‘Man’ but a man named ‘Yip Mun’ )
Ip Man

This is probably one of the best movies I’ve seen last year. I realised what made this movie so successful and great is how it made me feel during the screening. Even though honestly I don’t know Ip Man well, what I cared about was his fighting spirit, the values that he portrayed and his godlike fighting skills. Godlike! Godlike! He fought like god!
You will be forgiven to believe that he behaved more like a superhero in the movie than a real life person who lived on Earth ( yes, he is the master of legendary Bruce Lee ). Every time somewhere somehow someone helpless and weak needed to fight back, Ip Man appeared almost magically to the rescue. He owned no vehicle, so I assume he either travelled by foot or invisible wings. Or do I remember seeing him ride a bicycle? Hmmm..
This movie made me want to applaud for Ip Man, as well as the strong sense of justice in him. The more I watched, the more he gained the ‘heroic’ status in my heart. The story about him made me feel that with a common enemy, even the families from different classes and background can unite and fight together.
Some parts of the movie were unexpectedly hilarious too. The fights were deliciously choreographed to satisfy your Hunger for Sammo Hung’s signature fist to flesh choreography. =p
I’ll definitely buy the DVD and share the love.

I was exposed to a large variety of superstitions, even though I had a relatively religious upbringing. Still, it didn’t exempt me from doing a double take when I feel my left or right eye-lid twitch. Before, I would go to the extent of thinking that the first person I thought of was thinking of me in whichever manner at that very moment. I’m (obviously) over that now, and attribute it to stress or lack of sleep. Or just overactive eye muscles that are just acting out. At the end of the day, we are indeed in control of our own lives.
The new layout looks great, Desmond. I like the vibrant cyan, yellow-green and pink. The header definitely makes one think. Great stuff! =D

I like the cartoons, it’s very nice and funny.
But it’s true that 2009 is going to be a tough year with the financial crisis and all that. The after-effects are hitting us soon.
I don’t usually get bothered when my eye lids starts twitching. I will just assume that it’s due to the lack of sleep and didn’t think too much about it. Your friend should stop worrying, start relaxing and enjoying 2009.
By the way, love the new layout. It’s very cheerful.

Haha I made up the last part. But even on New Year’s day itself his left eyelid was still twitching.. -.-. Guess he didn’t sleep well because of worrying too much.
