Guess who I saw?
June 30th, 2008Lao Zha Bor! (No time for you to guess anyway, lol)

I took this photo myself and was asking the aunties behind the camera if the photo turned out fine, which explains why I wasn’t looking into the camera. Lol. Turns out that the aunties couldn’t really see properly also, because the screen is too small.. -_-
Some of you may not know her. She’s a local actress who frequently appears in Jack Neo’s movies, and thanks to the release of the movie ‘Just Follow Law’ last year, she became known as ‘Lao Zha Bor’ (meaning ‘old woman’.. and she’s really quite old).
She’s also a blogger. I mentioned about her before, in this post.
She was sitting right next to me when I took bus home last night, and I was truly surprised to see her. Haha. We chatted along the journey, and she even showed me her music video on her cellphone!
Kinda cute huh?

Just watched Wanted last week.

I think it’s a super cool movie, thanks to the director of Night Watch and Day Watch, Timur Bekmambetov. It’s like ‘The Matrix’ of 2008, but easier to understand. I experienced the same feeling I had after watching ‘The Matrix’ after this movie.
The visual style works. The humour works. The violence works, but could have been even more fierce. The action is fun to watch. That’s all that matters.

Watched You Don’t Mess With the Zohan too.

The movie was rather funny at the beginning, and it’s the type of show that you cannot take too seriously. The main character, Zohan, is interesting to watch. After more than half of the show is over, I began to feel that the jokes were getting repetitive. The worst part of the movie is the ending.. which just.. sucked. Not that it’s a sad ending, but I don’t like how the filmmakers made the story end. It looked like they were just trying to wrap up everything in a hurry and throw up the credits because they had no more story to tell.
Hmm.. if you like Adam Sandler’s brand of humour, you will like this show. =)

Adam Sandler is classic in his own way, though he tends to do his best work when he stays casual, not trying too hard to be funny or deep, etc.
