Second trip to toy museum
March 18th, 2008Suddenly felt like visiting the MINT Toy Museum again. This time I went there with Miss Toh. Read about my first trip here.

Luckily I went for the second time, if not I wouldn’t know that they are going to increase their admission fee for adults! Right now it’s still $10 (15% discount for students, if you show them your student pass), but from 1st April onwards, they are going to increase the price to $15!! So hurry down now!
In this second visit, I managed to capture what I missed out in the first one, as well as looked out for new toys up in the shelves.

This brand new life size figurine of myself is really attention seeking and handsome, and is recently added to the growing list of characters displayed in the museum, joining the lineup formed by Batman, Superman, Astroboy, etc.
Just kidding. The ‘Desmond’ word in there is obviously ‘photoshopped’ in!
Found some pretty interesting toys and took lots of pictures of them. Photo courtesy of myself and Miss Toh.

Tintin and the dog drinking orange juice. And Tintin is in push-up position, so is the dog. But then, dogs are always in push-up positions aren’t they?

Freaky looking Mickey Mice.

Guy on the left: Spit my girlfriend out, NOW!
Creature on the right: *mumbles* She’smmm notmmm insidemmm.. *mumbles*

Poor Popeye, got half of his body cut off. Cut his arms off and he will live life without limbs.

This teddy bear is placed in a super awkward position. Imagine spreading your legs wide open all day long! This teddy bear can join the national acrobatics team! Lol.

Attitude Teddy: See what see? You’ve got a problem?

I got very excited when I saw my name here! Lol. And I’m definitely not dismal!

The most emo and sad looking toy/face in the museum.

Toys demonstrating how to bully kids who are of smaller size than you, am I wrong? Definitely the most ‘violent’ set of toys in the museum!

This toy just reminds me of SPPAARRTAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Sausage arms. Made me hungry.

Biggest marbles I’ve ever seen!

Only one dwarf bowed down to me, the rest pretended I didn’t exist. Haha. Someone please make that dwarf stand upright again!

=O and =D expressions respectively. Yes, going to the toy museum will definitely make you =O and =D at the toys!
Unlike the previous time, many of the lights in the display shelves were turned off this time, because the ultraviolet lights were damaging the toys. =(
But all in all, this little museum is still very much alive and worth exploring. The staff there are very helpful and responsive.
Next stop, MOST Museum of Shanghai Toys! Shall go there next time. XD

The Toy Museum is near my campus, and I have not gone inside. I have only eaten in the downstairs cafe twice, which is sad because it’s an amazing building and I actually visited the architectural firm who was behind the construction of said museum.
And you are right.. Captain Haddock DOES look like King Leonidas. And if you have read/watched the Tin Tin series before, they have quite similar temperaments! Haha! =)
