Reading at Page One

November 4th, 2007

I love reading books that I love to read. I don’t know when I started to love reading though. Perhaps I have always loved reading, but somehow read the ‘wrong’ books.

One of my favourite places to read is Page One at Vivo City.

Its interior design is unique and different from many other bookstores that I’ve been to. The wooden bookshelves are mostly irregular and arranged in strange angles.

Page One Interior

It’s a super relaxing place, with very nice but non-disruptive music playing in the background and comfortable environment.

It’s one of my top favourite locations to spend my whole afternoon away.

Page One provides visitors with many places to sit down (ultra important!). You can easily find benches and stools everywhere. That is perfect for me, because I don’t like to sit down on the cold hard floor to read and at the same time blocking the path.

These benches, located very near the glass panels facing the sea, are usually lit by natural daylight from the outside during daytime. The lighting is not too bright and even adds a touch of coziness to the place.

In situations like this, it makes you feel like sipping a nice warm cup of coffee and grab a book to read.

Vivo City Scenary

If your eyes feel tired after reading a book for a long time, you can look out of the glass panel to admire the beautiful man-made scenary, and maybe at the same time, feel the calmness of the waters.

What’s your favourite place to read? If you don’t like reading, what’s your top favourite location to spend your day/afternoon? Why?
